How Does the Security Deposit Process Work?
For most reservations, we hold the security deposit (also known as a damage deposit) on a credit card with an authorization. After your departure, our team inspects the vacation home, and the deposit authorization is released—minus any charges for damages, if applicable.
✔ Credit Card Authorization – No immediate charge; funds are held and released after inspection.
✔ PayPal Payments – Refunds are sent back to the same PayPal account used for payment.
✔ Check or Money Order Payments – A refund check will be mailed to the address listed on your Booking Form.
✔ For Your Security – Refunds are only issued in the name of the primary guest on the Booking Form. -
How Much is the Security Deposit?
If guests choose not to purchase the optional Damage Waiver, the following security deposit amounts apply:
- 6- & 7-Bedroom Vacation Homes – $400
- 5-Bedroom Vacation Homes – $350
- 4-Bedroom Vacation Homes – $300
- 3- & 4-Bedroom Townhomes – $250
These security deposit amounts apply regardless of the length of your stay.

When Will the Security Deposit Be Refunded?
Per the rental agreement terms and conditions, your damage deposit will be refunded after we assess the vacation home for any:

✔ Excess cleaning needsIn most cases, the security deposit is refunded within 48 hours of your departure. However, if damages are found, the refund process may take up to 2-3 weeks as we assess and account for necessary repairs.

How to Skip the Security Deposit and Choose the Damage Waiver?

If you have opted for the Damage Waiver, it will cover accidental damages up to the selected coverage amount.
