Emerald Island Resort to Disney Theme Parks - Directions and Transportation

All of our villas are located in Emerald Island Resort in Kissimmee which is one of the prestigious resorts in the Orlando area and is located only three miles from Disney World, Orlando in Florida. Our guests enjoy free access to all of the resort's numerous amenities and are situated conveniently from all of the attractions Florida has to offer.

Own Transportation

If you choose to rent a car, please follow the directions below to all Orlando area tourist attractions and Disney theme parks. You can also download these directions.

Note: The directions below avoid Hwy 192 which gets backed-up for miles during park entry and return hours.

Walt Disney World

  1. Turn right leaving Emerald Island Resort onto at Funie Steed Rd/Oak Island Rd - 0.5 mi
  2. Turn left on to Formosa Gardens Blvd – 0.9 mi
  3. Turn right on to 192 (east) and stay in the left lane.
  4. Turn left on to Sherberth Rd - 1.4 mi
    • Turn left at Osceola Pkwy - 0.4 mi – IF going to Animal Kingdom
    • Turn right at Osceola Pkwy and follow signs of your chosen park – IF going to other Parks

Sea World/Discovery Cove

1-4. Same as above

  1. Turn right at Osceola Pkwy 3.8 Miles
  2. Merge on I-4 East via the ramp on the left to Orlando 5.5 mi
  3. Take exit 71 toward Sea World 0.5 mi
  4. Merge onto Central Florida Pkwy 0.7 mi
  5. Follow the signs to Sea World or Discovery Cove

Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure

1-4. Same as above

  1. Turn right at Osceola Pkwy 3.8 Miles
  2. Merge on I-4 East via the ramp on the left to Orlando 10 mi
  3. Take exit 74A for Sand Lake Rd/SR-482 toward International Dr 0.3 mi
  4. Turn left at W Sand Lake Rd/SR-482 W - Continue to follow W Sand Lake Rd 0.3 mi
  5. Turn right at CR-439 N/Turkey Lake Rd 2.0 mi

Kennedy Space Center

1-4. Same as above

  1. Turn right at Osceola Pkwy 3.8 Miles
  2. Merge on I-4 East via the ramp on the left to Orlando 5.5 mi
  3. Take exit 72, 528 TOLL E. toward Int’l Airport/Cape Canaveral
  4. Merge onto 528 East (also called the “Bee Line Expwy.”).
  5. Take the SR-407 exit on the left toward NASA Kennedy Space Center/I-95 N/Titusville.
  6. Merge onto Challenger Memorial Pkwy./407 N. for approximately six (6) miles.
  7. Turn right onto Columbia Blvd./FL-405 E. 8.4 miles
  8. Follow the signs to Kennedy Space Center.

Returning to Emerald Island Resort

  1. Follow the signs to Disney’s Animal Kingdom initially.
  2. Once you are close to Animal Kingdom, follow the signs to Animal Kingdom Lodge.
  3. After passing the exit for Animal Kingdom stay in left lane.
  4. Turn left on to Sherberth Rd
  5. Right on to Funie Steed Road/ Oak Island Rd
  6. Left in to Emerald Island Resort.

Transportation for Hire

Maingate Transportation provides daily shuttle service serving Emerald Island Resort with 2 morning pick-ups and 2 evening return runs that are at scheduled times. These runs are shared with other guests from the resort. Pricing per round trip for this service is as follows:

  • Disney World
    $10 per person
  • Universal Studios
    $14 per person
  • Sea World
    $11 person
  • Orlando Premium Outlets
    $10 per person

If you have 6 or more people, it makes sense to hire a private van since it's charged by the trip and NOT per person. This can be arranged any time of day for morning pick-up and evening return as you don't share this service with other guests. The van holds up to 14 people and the round trip costs are as follows:

  • Disney World
    $56
  • Universal Studios
    $80

They also provide service to and from the airport. They will have the driver waiting with a sign showing the guest's name and he will help with their luggage, etc. They charge $78 for airport pick-up and $68 for return (if they are used for pick-up as well).

In terms of food shopping, they have a minimum charge of $6 per person to drop up to 5 people off at the store. They will come back to pick them up at a specified time for another $6.
