Have you ever wondered why the pool facing is an important factor while renting an
Orlando Florida vacation home? |

South Facing Pool
|
South facing pools take advantage of those golden rays from sunrise to sunset which is why
many vacationers prefer and ask for a ‘South-Facing Pool’. Have you ever wondered why a south-facing pool makes the perfect choice?
We tried to explain below based on the sun's trajectory in various seasons of the year.
-
In the summer months Sun rises in the northeast and stays up the longest.
-
In the winter months, Sun rises southeast and remains low. A south-facing pool gets the sunlight the longest in comparison to
other types of pools in winter months.
-
In the spring and fall months, Sun rises exactly on the east and sets exactly on the west. The shadow of the house does not fall on
the pool during these seasons.
-
Irrespective of the time of the year a south-facing pool gets nice sunshine all day long and the lanai is shaded
to cool you off.

West Facing Pool |
West facing pools do not get any sunshine until after noon. They do get sunlight from noon to
sunset. The only disadvantage they have is that the lanai area does not get the shade to allow you to cool-off.
|
|
East Facing Pool
|
East facing pools start with nice sunshine in the morning. By mid-day, most of the pool deck starts to get the shadow of the home. As the sun travels further and
further west, the entire pool deck and pool area will be darkened by the shadow of the home.
|
|
North Facing Pool
|
North facing pool decks do not get much sun throughout the day. On two story villas, this is even worse as you cannot sun bathe and might have to go up to the
drive-way or the side of the house to get some tanning.
